5th Grade News!
Happy Thanksgiving! May you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and enjoy God’s blessings of family, friends, food, and fun. May we all be reminded to live each day as a day of ‘Thanks-living’ to the Lord!
This is a shortened school week due to the Thanksgiving break. School will dismiss at noon on Wednesday. I’ll see you again on Monday, December 1. We will be busy for those three weeks preparing for the Children’s Christmas Program on Saturday, December 20 at 5:30 and 7:00 PM.
Singing change: Students who are in Jr. Choir will not be singing in church the evening of Sunday, December 7. This year there will not be an Advent Song Service, however, there will be mid-week services in December on Thursday nights at 7:15 PM. Join us as we prepare our hearts for the Savior!
The science project due date is this week Wednesday, November 26! It will be enjoyable to see the students’ hard work in their various projects this coming January.
The students have John 8:47 and Luther’s Morning Prayer to recite on Tuesday. There will be no spelling unit this week. We are now beginning to work on a persuasive letter. Next week we will be finishing the book ‘Where the Red Fern Grows’ and watching the movie based on the book.
The Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success! Thank you for all the wonderful book donations for the classroom. They are very much appreciated by the students and myself and will be put to great use!
‘Tis the season! With the various illnesses around, please be sure to email/call the school to let us know if your child will be absent. Thanks much!
Have a very blessed week!
