5th Grade News!!!
Welcome to week two! We had a great (and very hot!) first week of school. I pray you enjoyed a fun Labor Day weekend!
Memory passages this week are due Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please remind your child to practice at home so he/she is ready to recite in the morning upon arrival!
Tues.: John 5:23, Galatians 4:4,5
Thurs.: Books of the Bible (Old Testament)
Fri.: Hymn 230:1-2
The first math test will be Tuesday, September 9. There is generally one math test each week. The first book report is due Friday, October 3. Please look for the note that was sent home.
Grades 3-5 will sing in church this Sunday, September 7 at the 8:45 AM service! Please sign and return the note that was sent home.
Please remember to send your child’s earthquake kit to school. All kits should be at school by Monday, September 8! Thank you to those who have already returned the kits.
Please be sure to have book covers on all hardcover school books. All books should be covered by Monday, September 8! Thank you for helping to keep the books in good condition.
Graded papers will come home in a folder with your child every Friday. Inside the folder there is a sheet for you to sign indicating that you have looked at your child’s work, and then the folder should be returned to school on Monday. All work should stay at home unless there is a note on the assignment, or if you have a question. Thanks!
September book orders were sent home. Please return all order forms and payment in an envelope to Miss Tjernagel by Monday,
September 8!
All students need to have tennis shoes at school for PE class on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please also note that your child may wish to bring a sweatshirt or jacket for the cooler mornings.
Vision Screening will be held at school for grade 5 this Thursday, September 4.
Please do not hesitate to stop by or call if you have any questions or concerns!
Have a wonderful week! Miss Tjernagel
