5th Grade News!

‘Happy Fall’ to you! I love the cooler weather and color changes that come with fall. Things in this life change often; how happy and blessed we are to know that our God will never change!
Next week Monday through Wednesday we will be taking the Terra Nova standardized tests. Please make sure that your child is at school promptly in order to stay on the testing schedule. It would be best to schedule any dr., dentist, or other appointments after 3:00 for that week. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation! There will be no piano lessons during teseting week. Lessons will resume the week of October 6.
This week’s memory schedule is as follows:
Tuesday: Romans 3:20, Psalm 91:11
Thursday: Psalm 119:105, Mark 10:45, Psalm 103:13
Friday: Hymn 239:1-2
The students will take the unit 5 spelling test on Friday, a chapter math test on Thursday, and they took their first English test on Monday. There will be a catechism test next week Thursday. The realistic fiction book report is due by Friday, October 3.
The final “Keeping Our Children Safe” class is scheduled for this Monday evening at 6:15. This class is required for all parents who will drive and chaperone for field trips and work with the students.
Mid-term progress reports will be sent home this week Tuesday! We will be having Parent/Teacher Conferences to discuss student progress and any other questions or concerns you may have. Please look for the attached note concerning the conferences.
School dismisses at 12:00 noon this Friday for Teacher Collaboration Day. There will be no hot lunch on Friday.
Happy Birthday to Daniel on Thursday, September 25! Daniel will be having a pizza lunch for the entire class on Thursday, so the students will not need to bring a drink or lunch that day.

Have a great last full week of September!
Miss Tjernagel
