Friday: Hymn 283:1-2

The catechism test covering lessons 1-10 and the science test on chapter 2 will be taken this Thursday. The students will take the unit 6 spelling test on Friday. The realistic fiction book report is due this Friday, October 3!

5th Grade News!!!

We are now entering week number three of the school year and the students and I are settling into our routines. I continue to enjoy learning more about the class and each individual student!
Please look for a chapel offering envelope which will be attached to the weekly note. These offerings go to help others around the world learn about Jesus. The eighth grade class is designating where the offerings will be sent and will let us know the chosen mission very soon. The envelopes can be returned to school any day during the week.
Thanks to all the students and parents for participating in our first singing opportunity of the year. The students did a wonderful job using their voices to praise the Lord!
This week’s memory schedule is as follows:
Tues.: Romans 10:17, 2 Corinthians 8:9
Thurs.: 1st Article (see memory calendar)
Fri.: Hymn 223:1-2
The students will have their first math test this Tuesday! There will be a math test after each five lessons, and the test will cover all material previously studied. A review sheet will be sent home the day before each test. Please feel free to help your child review the material and prepare for the test.
This week we are finishing the first chapter in science. We have been studying cells and what they do, how body systems transport materials, and how bones, muscles, and nerves work together. The students will have a test next Monday. This first test will be a guided activity completed together as a class.
This week during reading class we will begin reading the novel “Hatchet” by Gary Paulsen. Gary was born in Minneapolis, MN and attended school in Bemidji, MN. We will be reading the novel over the next few weeks.

Have a wonderful week!
