Welcome to the 3^rd quarter! I hope you had a great 3-day weekend. This week we have four days of school and next Friday we dismiss at noon for Teacher Collaboration Day.

This week’s spelling is review unit 18. The words are taken from units 13-17. The pretest is Tuesday and the final test is Friday.

This week Wednesday the 5^th grade will take an English test. We will also be working to finish our character sketches. There is no math test this week. The next math test will be Monday, January 28. We will begin reading the novel Search for the Shadowman in reading class this week. We also begin a new science chapter on Earth’s Weather.

The Social Studies Fair is this Friday evening from 6-8 PM. The 5^th grade projects will be set up in the church narthex. If you have any questions please feel free to talk with Mr. Stubalt. See you Friday evening!

The book report is due Friday, February 8. A note was sent home last Friday explaining the project details. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The 2^nd quarter report cards will be sent home with your child on Friday. Please sign the envelope and return it to school. Please let me know if there is anything that you would like to discuss concerning your child’s progress.
