Wow, it’s already mid-October! We’ve been having lots of fun and the time has been flying. I’m enjoying the cooler fall weather very much.
This week there are no memory passages due on Tues. or Thurs. The 5th graders are having their first catechism test on lessons 1-13 this Tuesday. They will be required to write the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Commandments. Hymn 429: 1-2 will be recited on Friday.
This week we are on spelling unit 8. The pre-test will be held Monday and the final test on Friday. Great job last week on some wonderful test grades! Keep up the super work. : )
This week we are working on capitalizing proper nouns and learning abbreviations in English. We continue to work on writing the how-to articles. All students will take math test 5 on Wednesday. We finished reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen last week. The students really enjoyed the book and are looking forward to the next novel.
On Monday we enjoyed an all-school presentation by the Wildlife Associates. Be sure to ask your child all about it!
A note was sent home Monday with your scheduled Parent/Teacher Conf. time. Please be sure to mark the date and time on your calendar. A reminder will also be sent with the 1st Quarter report cards.
Notes were also sent home to families for whom we have no record of taking the “Keeping Our Children Safe” class. Be sure to let me know if this is an error. Please check the note for the added times that the class will be offered.
Please remember that school dismisses at noon this Friday for Teacher Collaboration Day!
Thanks to everyone who sang in church on Sunday. The students did a wonderful job using their voices to praise the Lord!
