Happy February! The days have certainly been very sunny and beautiful lately – what a wonderful blessing.

The students in grades 3-5 sing in the 8:45 AM service this Sunday, February 7. Please sign and return the singing note by Thursday, February 4. Thanks!

A memory calendar for February was sent home with your child last week. Please let me know if you would like an extra calendar. This week’s memory schedule is as follows:
Tues.: 2nd Article (WDTM...innocent suffering and death), James 1:22
Thurs.: 2nd Article (WDTM - All this he did...end), Ps. 145:15-16
Fri.: Hymn 392: 1-2

This week’s spelling is unit 21. The pretest is Monday and the final test is Friday. The final states & capitals quiz on the Middle West states will be on Tuesday. There will be a math test on Wednesday. The science test on chapter 2 will be on Thursday, and the social studies test on chapter 9 will be on Friday. The students will take an English adjective test next Monday.

There is no hot lunch this week. Information will be coming on the new hot lunch program.

The animal book report is due this Friday, February 5. Students will need to bring the finished poster and the book to school. The book talks will begin next week.

This Friday is Collaboration Day, so school dismisses at noon. Homeroom will be available from 12:00-6:00 PM.

The students did some wonderful work on their various Social Studies Fair projects! What talents the Lord has given to them!

A February Memory Schedule was sent home on Monday. This week’s memory schedule is as follows:

Fri.: Hymn 587: 3-4

This week’s spelling is unit 20. The pretest is on Monday and the final test is on Friday. There is a math test on Tuesday. The social studies states and capitals quiz will be on Tuesday. We are finishing the science unit on Earth’s Weather this week, and the test will be held next week.

The 5th grade animal book report is due Friday, February 5. Please let me know if you need another informational sheet explaining the project.

Welcome back to school - I hope you had a great 3-day weekend!

This week’s memory schedule is as follows:

Thurs.: 1st Article (God also preserves . . . end.), Is. 43:11
Fri.: Hymn 75: 1-2

This week’s spelling is unit 19. The pretest is Tuesday and the final test is Friday. There is no math test this week. We will begin reading the novel ‘Search for the Shadowman ‘ in reading class this week. We also begin a new chapter in social studies.

The Social Studies Fair is this Friday evening from 6-8 PM. The 5th grade projects will be set up in the church narthex. If you have any questions please feel free to talk with Mr. Stubalt. See you Friday evening!

The book report is due Friday, February 5. A note was sent home explaining the project details. The poster paper is at school. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Please sign the report card envelope and return it to school by Friday, January 22. Thanks! Let me know if there is anything that you would like to discuss concerning your child’s progress.

The field trip for today will be rescheduled to a different date. I will let you know more information as I receive it.

This is the first week of the 3rd quarter of the school year. Wow, the time is flying so fast! Report cards will be sent home with the students on Friday, January 15.

This week’s memory schedule is as follows:
Tues.: Conclusion (WDTM)
Thurs.: Conclusion (All), Prov. 3:5
Fri.: Hymn 83: 1-2

The spelling for the week is review unit 18. The pretest is on Monday and the final test is on Friday. This week’s math test will be on Friday. There will be an English test on pronouns on Wednesday. The science test was on Monday.

The Social Studies Fair is Friday, January 22 from 6-8 PM. Projects should be brought to school on Tues., Jan. 19 and brought to the narthex at the back of church upon arriving at school. Please be sure to ask Mr. Stubalt if you have any questions. I am excited to see all the neat projects that the students are busy working on!

The students are working on a book report that is due Friday, February 5. The information sheet was sent home today with your child. Please let me know if you have any questions.

School dismisses at noon this Friday, January 15 for Teacher Collaboration Day. There will be no hot lunch. Homeroom is open from noon until 6:00 PM.
There is no school on Monday, January 18! School resumes on Tuesday the 19th with our ‘Westward Ho’ field trip. More information will be coming later this week.

This week’s spelling is unit 17. The pretest is on Monday and the final test is on Friday. There will be a math test on Thursday. Before Christmas we finished our science chapter B1 on Earth’s Air and Water. We will be reviewing for a test next week Monday.

The 5th graders will be starting to work on their next book report project. The book report will be due on Friday, February 5. Each student should choose a book that has an animal as a main character or where an animal is the main focus of the story. All students need to bring the book to school for approval by next Monday, January 11! The project details will be sent home next week Monday.

January book orders were sent home on Monday. All order forms and payment are due by Monday, January 11.

Wow, one week left before Christmas Vacation begins! We have a busy week with our Christmas Program practices, Christmas Party, and daily assignments.

This week’s memory schedule is as follows:

Thurs. Matt. 4:10, Matt. 18: 20, I John 1:7

We are working on spelling unit 16 this week. The pretest is Monday and the final test is on Friday. There is a math test this Wednesday.

We will be having our class Christmas party in the afternoon on Friday. Please remember you do not need to send a lunch to school with your child. You may want to send a snack for morning recess. Notes will be sent home reminding you what you volunteered to bring for the party. Please have the treats ready (cut, popped, frosted, warmed, etc.) and at school by noon on Friday! Thanks to all who have already offered assistance ~ we are planning on a delicious and special lunch. : )

The Christmas party will be held Friday afternoon! Students should bring their wrapped gifts to school by Thursday morning and place them under the tree. Remember to sign your name on the gift that is brought!
All students are involved in the Children’s Christmas Program on Saturday, December 19 at 5:30 and 7:00 PM. We will be having a joint practice on Saturday morning, Dec. 19, from 9:00-11:00 AM. We are very excited to share the news of Jesus’ birth with you! Students will meet in the classroom on Sat. at 5:00 PM. Please plan to join us for the other special services as well.

Happy December to you! There are two busy weeks left before the Christmas vacation begins. We are preparing to share the message of Christ’s birth through recitation and songs at the Children’s Christmas Program on Dec. 19 at 5:30 and 7:00 PM. We look forward to seeing you there!

The class Christmas party will be on Thursday, Dec. 17. I am still looking for some help with volunteers to bring treats. Please see the note sent home on Monday and let me know if you are willing to help. Thanks! The students may bring the gift to exchange with a classmate starting Monday, Dec. 14.
